    Basically feeling "Pity" for someone or something with a deformation or handicap is saying that you feel they are 'pitiful', so I would use caution. Some would take offense.

    As far as the snake, two headed snakes can live perfectly normal lives. Each head, if fully formed with an independant brain, thinks independantly. Van Walsh has a two headed eastern milksnake that was found just 40 miles from my home. It was given to him to study.

    Most of the time the right head eats, occasionally the left head eats. What is interesting is that last summer when I got to spend some time speaking with Van Walsh (and holding the two headed milksnake) he stated that the left head has learned to sit and wait while the right head eats, but when the left head eats the right head trys to push itself around dragging the left head with the food in its mouth.

    To me, this indicates either the left head learned more quickly, or that the right head has more dominate control over the body. Very interesting to me.
