It's about 1/8" square chips, very thin. Not cubes.

I haven't tried it with my BP but with my corn snakes they seem to prefer shredded aspen as it tunnels easier. Sani chips just collapse when they tunnel in it. I use the Harlan finely shredded aspen.

Yeah that was what I was talking about to...the chips just pack down each has its pro's and con's...chips pack down and you use (atleast to me) more...aspen stays fluffy (and to me you use less) yet its dusty as all hell at first (atleast ours is)

ED, let me know how you like those sani chips, I tried them for a short while and they seemed to get tracked everywhere and I was constantly running the shop vac. :)

The PJMurphy branded bags might be different.

If it's 50 lbs for 7.99 thats a damn good price.

Okay I found some info at another site that sells it, Harlan Sani Chips 2.25 cubic feet 30-35 lbs.

PJ murphy make alot of products and they make a regular aspen chip that is not the Sani-chip size. I was able to buy sanichips at Harlan in Madison, Wisc. but you have to order $100.00 worth and its 6.99 a 2.5 cubic ft. bag. The good thing though is that they sell rodent feed so I got some of that too. They were great and will ship but its gonna cost you because its gotta come frieght truck. I live in Chicago so it was a 3 hour there and back ride so it wasnt that bad. make sure you check inside the bag before you buy you may just get the regular coarse aspen.

I like the look of the sani chips. If I can get my hands on some, I might try them for the rats. Right now I use Pine. For the snakes, no way. Paper all the way...

Near Chicago I get Harlan rodent feed (2018) and aspen bedding and occasionally Sani Chips at the Du Page fairgrounds show. Next one is tomorrow. Prices are a little higher as they have to make their cut but at east you don't have to buy $100 worth and drive 6 hours.
Sani Chips were $10, Aspen bedding $13 and 2018 $13
