Hey guys, I haven't seen anyone make mention of it, but her second picture, doesn't that look like blisters?

If it IS blisters, please try to get him seen by a vet as soon as you can. I know that money can be tight, but that looks pretty serious to me, and I'd be worried about them bursting and then infecting!

I also thought I made out blisters. The pics aren't the best quality but from the looks of it, I would take the snake to a qualified vet ASAP.

People like you are a joke you buy a snake without a clue as to what the hell YOU are doing and the poor animal pays the price.

This animal may live up to 40 years. What are you going to do with it when its no longer cool to have?

Go watch american idol and talk to your friends. Leave the snakes for the people who know what the hell they are doing!

Dont worry, I cant be scared off that easily when Im trying to get what I want/need. I went out today and bought a rheostat and gained a digital thermometer with a humidity gauge, thank god for pay checks ;) Right now I have the heat pad and the light, on a low setting, and I have layed down the newspaper and paper towels in a way so she can not get under them and get too close to the heater, but still giving her a hide box.

Her belly is already less pink and I applied more polysporin, hopefully when she sheds it will help clear it up. I know I did an aweful job of taking care of her, but Im willing to learn and get much better at what Im doing. So I thank all of you profusely for helping me.

    What I have changed:
Not allowing her to get to the heat pad (which is on the outside bottom ;) )
A rheostat to keep it from getting less hot.
    A thermometer.

And now Im patiently waiting for her to shed, which seems to be taking a while, probably due to stress. How often should a snake shed btw. She has been shedding almost once a month since I obtained her.

    Thank you!

My BP will be a year old this may, and she's shed for me about 3 times since christmas (and should shed again in the next week). For younger snakes I'd say about every 4-5 weeks, then progressively less as they age. It all depends on their growth rate also.

how can you say something like this?! she's new to snakes and learning still. i think it was very wise of her to join this site to find out information about her snake. no one knows every single thing about snakes no matter how much they research, especially in the beginning.

welcome to the site, and like i said before, i think you made a great choice by coming here because there are so many people who will be able to give you great information. whenever you have a question, just ask! i hope all goes well with your snake! post some pictures for us when it sheds!

Turns out we live pretty close to each other Jane. You've got a PM with my phone number in it so please don't hesitate to call if you need anything (don't feel it's an imposition, I wouldn't give you the number unless I was happy to be of whatever help I can be).

The only thing you deserve is props for searching out answers! I'm glad you found this place....You still need help from a herp vet, but you've definitely found the right place for advice.
