We have GOBS (technical term...not really) of bandwidth here at work. We are in the final stages of a huge fiber project that is in its 4th year. We provide internet and services over fiber to our school districts and some outside as well as the county 911 services. In the summer or when school is not in session downloads are crazy fast...
At home for the last couple years I have been using wireless broadband from a local provider. 12Mb of un-capped goodness! No charge either...I used to work for them also and help with testing when needed.

i don't live in the boonies by any means, but dsl is not available. the only high speed internet available is comcast and i'm sorry, but they suck absolute ass here. i'm not even going to go into how difficult it was to actually get someone out to my house when i moved just to turn the freaking service on. what? you had an appointment? ...oh right, well we won't be able to send anyone out until next week now... gah!
