I think that selective breeding rather then just producing as many morphs as possible will play a much bigger role in the future of this hobby.

Great statement :) I agree with you; top-notch females, from a reputable source, are the way to go. Granted, you might be able to pump out nice babies from run-of-the-mill females, I like the ones that just speak to you and have little pattern quirks; Reduceds are the way to go :)

    Jan 2008:

    Spider Male
    het axanthic male
    Mojave Female
    Hypo Female or Male?

What you think? Do you think I should swap the sexes around anywhere?

Why do you want a het axanthic male? If you are buying him to breed with the axanthic female that is probably not the best way to go. You would be better off buying a few het axanthic females this year and buying an axanthic male in 2008.

Working with what you like is number one. Ress and double co-dom are a good choice after that.

One thing I thought of: I would not invest in anythung hugely expensive until you have experience breeding lower-cost animals and are 100% sure that you can breed, incubate, and hatch out. Just a purely financial statement here; lower-priced snakes should not be treated any lesser than higher-tagged ones, but if you fail at breeding, at least it would not be as much of a financial hit to you personally.

    Get what SPEAKS TO *YOU*.

Don't let anyone tell you what you should get or whatever. If YOU don't love it then it's not going to mean much even if it cost a few thousand dollars.

Well I have bred corns a few years running but sold them to concentrate on my BP's

I bred my normals last season. However I mised the laying and I lost the eggs through maternal incubation.

    My incubator is now setup

We start pairing our balls in May now in SA
