Yes of course, if they're sick, they should be treated.. I didn't mean that they shouldn't.

Vaccines are not the same as antibiotics.. it's widely thought that (human) doctors prescribe antibiotics far too often anyways.. the bacteria are building resistances to them and the antibiotics are having to be harsher to do the job.
Also many animals (especially pets..) are probably over vaccinated. Yearly shots is overkill I think.. just do a google search on vaccinosis and you'll come up with tons of reading.
