Cue, sorry to steal your thread, but I thought an answer to Jo was appropriate. Yes Jo, My Albino male bred my Het Albino female. We got seven eggs. One egg went bad in about a week. You ould think that from the remaining six (per the odds), we would get 3 Albinos and 3 Hets. We did not. We got 1 deformed, dead Albino and 5 Het male Albinos. That clutch was horrid. But, Karma turned around and we proved out 3 Poss. Het Axanthic females with a final count of 4.5 Axanthics and 7.6 Het Axanthics. The Ball Gods work in mysterious ways. I know Cue will get something big out of this. If anyone deserves it, it is CUE!

I am really sorry, Cue. You definately don't deserve this.. I know how it feels to have an entire clutch slowly die and go bad before my eyes.. sorry about this. I hope that your other breeding females give you some better results though. :)

Yeah, it's tragic... I'm on my second year with my albino and 4 girls... still nothing. I think he's gay. I saw him slithering over a pair of leather chaps. Still don't know how those got in there...

Thanks Tim, I thought my memory was right on that. Chris I hope like Tim's experience, you get a very good surprise after such a disheartening experience. You have a wonderful attitude though my friend and can put this in it's proper perspective.

Everything has a silver lining though. I learned that by not taking the advice to completely and properly cool this female I most likely caused her to ovulate too early. Now I know and hopefully others will learn from my mistake. I will make a more formal post about this and my findings. Using ultrasound I had a strong idea of what was to come so I was slightly prepared. Still a bummer since I was looking forward to incubation and pipping of baby ball pythons :(

I might still have a chance for eggs this season and will certainly cross my fingers for better results. I was blessed with fantastic babies last year so I have had my turn already :)

You have a great attitude to these things and I look forward to reading the article.
