I like the way you think! I share the same sentiments...there are too many sub-par pastels on the market.

i was under the impression... that some pastels are hatched out gorgeous and some not so gorgeous? is this the reality or is there a way to make all gorgeous pastels from each clutch?

Congrats Rich! Can't have too many girls around, and those two look like they are pretty light colored and busy (just like your Lustro :D). Get ready to start building another rack soon too!

This is true and I've heard the same, but selectively picking lighter colored females can't hurt IMO. I guess I'll know for sure after a few clutches. I feel like Evan hit the genetics jackpot when he produced my boy, or at least thats what I like to think :) Ideally I would like to find a pairing that gave me WoW quality pastels all the time. He's still young but hopefully his colors will continue to hold as well as they have.

Evan- You hit it right on the head. I purposely picked these lighter busy patterned girls over the reduced ones I saw because, I really like the busy contrast Lustro has and would like to build off it.

thanks rich... i just wanted to make sure i wasn't misunderstanding regarding pastels.

and i agree... starting with the best possible pastels you can find is a great way to begin a breeding project. i'm doing the exact same myself.
