Re: Snake is acting odd
That was my first thought too, Judy, as soon as I read constantly rubbing her mouth on the dish. Sounds to me like she's trying to clear her mouth of mucus (I haven't even viewed the video yet).
Glad to hear you're going to get her seen!
Edit - ok, seen the video now - I definitely think that she's trying to clear her mouth of mucus. Let us know how it goes!

Re: Snake is acting odd
Got back from the vet here jsut a lil bit ago.Brenna is doing fine, vet thinks she may have the starting of an RI, she checked her lungs said they sounded good, but wanted to give her a shot of antibiotics , just in case. So Brenna got her shot( and she was not happy about it) and the vet sent us home with some pills to give her in 3 days. I went ahead and had my other 2 snakes looked at and all is good with them. We wanted to have all of them checked for internal parasites, but since we didn't have fresh stools, wasn't able to do that. The vet sent us home with some meds to give them for internal parasites and to give them a dose when we got home and a dose again in 2 weeks. She told us that it wouldnt hurt them to give it to them if they didnt have any, and if they did it would clear them of them.
So everyone is home back in their own tanks resting after a long trip to the vets and back home.

Re: Snake is acting odd
So, did the vet do a culture to test for an RI, or just listen to the lungs? What oral med did she give? I've read here from others that oral meds are not efficiently absorbed in ball pythons.
Hopefully someone with more experience in the treatments of RI's, (Becky? Adam?) will chime in here.

Re: Snake is acting odd
The vet gave us Baytril 22.7 mg. Give 0.25 tablet twice weekly, use until gone. She did tell us that normally they would have the snake owner come back in for the snake to get a shot, but since we live in texas and the vet is in Shreveport,La. which is a lil over an hour from my house, she gave us the pills to give Brenna. Told us to crush them up and give them to her with a syrenge(spelling?). I guess I will crush them up and put them in some water and give it to her that way. Unless someone can give a better idea.
