Re: Introducing.....Buddy!
Best of luck with him! he looks very pretty! :)
Re: Introducing.....Buddy!
Awwh, he's gorgeous! Congrats! :D
Re: Introducing.....Buddy!
i'm just so pleased for everyone involved in this. jo, for the joy she gets to experience watching her son 'bliss out'. mike for the honour of seeing another adult make his son's day. mikey, for the double experience of kindness of strangers. he may not know cue and adam as jo does but he feels their kindness regardless... beautiful lesson in that.
and adam... i know first hand how 'gifting' lights up your life. i can only imagine how brightly you are glowing right now.
and finally cue... you gifted to mikey first and that kindness will never be forgotten anymore than helori will be forgotten by any of those who were blessed to meet her.
 all around people

Very well said Aleesha and more so than perhaps you know dear.
As some of you know from private conversations with me, young Michael had to recently change schools in the midst of the whole Helori upset. For reasons of his physical safety and emotional wellbeing it was best for him to be in no further contact with his kindergarten teacher (and yes there is a Board of Ed investigation brewing  ) Why I'm mentioning this is just to reaffirm that these two gifts....Chris with Helori and then Adam with Buddy...are more than two generous men and two small snakes. They are a lesson we are using to help our small son understand that not all adults are mean or scarey. That these two men who he's never met cared enough to give him joy for no other reason than they wanted to make him happy. That's a lesson that right now our son needs rather badly as he settles into a new school and learns to trust again. I hope Adam and Chris know in these few simple words just how very much their actions have meant, far beyond this world of snakes.
Thanks guys, from Mike and I and one very happy little herper, Mikey. I hope someday to give both of you the huge hugs you so richly deserve!
I'll take some pics tonight of Mikey in his 8Ball tshirt and a few later this week of Mikey and Buddy once his little snake has had a chance to have a meal and settle in properly.
P.S. Tim I don't have a top of the head pic of Buddy but I'll get one when I can. If it matters he does have a oddly shaped light marking on the top of his head, not quite like the almost mickey mouse shape of the one that Riordan, the male YB has but a definite much lighter shape on the very top of his head.
Re: Introducing.....Buddy!
this is the beauty of kindness. often when we gift an act of kindness... whether it's words, actions or physical possessions, we are not aware of how deeply the act itself affects the receiver.
it's so easy to be nice. to be kind. to be loving. it's so natural to care. i hope mikey is able to, one day, take this wonderful gift and give it away (the lesson not the snake) so someone else may learn it as well.
