your not kidding you leave a gate or the front door open a crack and thier gone, my dad came over one day and i went to let him in he was right in front ready to walk in and bam there goes juno. into the woods across the street. i couldnt see him i just looked at the tree top to see the birds getting flushed...lol

The problem with Mals and Siberians is that they have no 'territory'. Everything they see, is theirs. Unlike many other dogs who stake out 'home' as theirs.

I myself am still a fan of a good old fashioned training collar.

Harnesses are bad. And any dogs you see pulling are because they were allowed to develop the habit. Not the dogs fault but the owner that neglected to do any proper training with the poor creature.

And you know, I'm sure the rest of us would enjoy more pictures of this handsome handsome Bentley boy. :)

i have had no problems with bentley so far. my parents also have a sib. husky and they have had no problems with him. its all about starting young. now by all means i do not beat the dog but you have to show them who's boss. Just like when they are in the wild they have a pack leader, mother, or father. you have to be there leader. when you are playing with a puppy speak in a hi pitched voice. they will relate this with another puppies palyful bark or playful growel(spelling??) when they are being bad or being a puppy speak in a deep voice dont yell but be firm. they will relate this to the father, mom, or pack leader that is pissed. just my :2cent:

i guess i should of said that he got lose on the third day that i rescued him.. my bad, like i said i rescued him and he was raised on a chicken farm and was let to run free only after he got into the chicken did his owner get rid of him other then that i had NO problems with him, i took some time to break him of pulling when walking but we did. some breeds have thing in them that there breed for, i dont care who you are i feel you'll never get a beagle not to bark at a rabbit its in there blood. huskey i feel like to run, some time or another they will.thats my:2cent: . god luck with your dog he's looks very nice...

the only time my parents dog runs is when we go up to camp. when we yell for him he comes back. we are working on this with Bentley. we figure if we let him run with my parents husky he will learn. but timw will tell

how does your parents dog like camping? we use to take juno all the time, its was great fun until night time with all the coons. we only had a tent then and he drove us nuts. but we love it. now we have a camper but no juno...

my parents dog loves it. the only time we really have to crack the whip is when he see's a deer. at night when we are siting by the campfire he sits with us. the only time he really gets up is when he has to go to the bathroom. My parents own 20 acres up in milan,nh where my dad and i built a camp. Did juno like to go for rides?? my parents dog loves it. Bentley loves to ride too, but he is at the stage where he has to sit on my lap. and he getting a bit to big to be doing that

Raising a Husky has been a nightmare for me, but at almost 2 years old I still haven't given up and he's still cute as ever...
