Re: why are females more expensive?
The reason females tend to be more expencive is because they are as some have already said the greater half of the breeding equation. Both males and females are needed but females tend to be more of a long term investment from a breeding stand point. So breeders tend to price them higher lets the breeder better control the depreciated value of a morph year to year. It makes since as a breeder to price males whith in the reach of the people that want the morph and females for the soon to be or current breeder/investor. Both get what they want.

Say that we're expendable again. I dare you. Seriously, no human is expendable, ever. Even if you meant def. #4 when you said expendable (which I doubt), I still think that you were out of line with that comment. Women aren't more valuable, they're equal, by law.
Re: why are females more expensive?
I know I couldn't live with out my man! :P And having both a boy, and girl as children, I cherish both of them equally. I would die for my son, that's for sure, not to be morbid. Anyway, back to topic, as some have said, It takes longer to bring a female to breeding size, ( which also = more time and money spent) and are more valuble, money wise,as breeders, so I think that is why they are more expensive, even as babies.
