    Joe.... I was shredding mine up and using it as rat bedding for a while, thought it was a good way to lower my cost's in bedding....and allways had plenty of it. Then my rats starting having breathing problems. I talked to my vet about it and she thought that the fine dust particals from the shredded paper was the culprit. I stopped using the shredded paper and havent had the problem anymore. Not saying this WAS the problem, but I wont use it anymore. Just something for you to watch out for.
