Then what would the difference be in keeping them all in the room with my current collection? I could get 100 snakes at the same time from different sources, and keep them all in one room... but if one is sick, all 100 could die, correct?

This is what i do when i have any new snakes.I setup each snake in its own enclosure. When ever i go to do any cleaning or such i take care of my collection first(AKA snakes who are clear of problems and such). My next step BEFORE i move to quarintined snakes is i use hand sanitizer all over my hands up to my elbows. Some say this will not kill any mites but at 90+% alcohol i think it works if not burn the crap out of them :P .Then i care for the new collection this way if any of the new snakes have anything i do not spred it to my previous snakes. Now if you have more then one snake at a time you could use latex gloves and change them after each snake. This way nothing gets transfered to the others in the quarintine room.:D Some may think this is to much to bother with but one mess up and your whole collection could be dead :(.

I remember talking with Adam about this a long time ago when we had a number of rescues/pet store purchased snakes all coming in around the same time. He cautioned me then about being very serious about quarantining every snake, every single time, no ifs, ands or buts about it. All I can say is even with our snakes with little known pasts, we've yet to have even a single illness or a mite in the collection. Adam rocks and I'm glad we learned early to be careful.

If we have a snake in quarantine and get another in we just "reset" the quarantine clock. In other words, if snake #1 is in for 60 days and we are at day 45 and add a new snake into the quarantine room (our master bedroom), then snake #1 goes back to day 1 and starts over. We'd always rather be safe than sorry.

I don't, I just start the quarantine over for everyone when the new snake comes in ... once my quarantine facility is "filled" up ... no more new snakes until they're all done. :(

Hey I remember one of my wedding anniversaries where my husband went to bed early with 3 females and none of them were me! :(

(It happened we had Brannagh, Orlah and Saoirse all quarantined in the master bedroom that year. LOL)
