    Judy,

I hope you have a smooth uneventful move - it sounds like a good move for you guys! Very smart of you to keep your home in SA - that certainly takes one burden off your shoulders (looking for a new home). Hope that your renters are able to vacate in a timely manner for you!

    Congratulations Judy.

Does your husband get a promotion to a new rank/position?

Are you going to be in Randolf AFB, Brooks City Base, or Lackland AFB *(Basic Training only -- base is not open to visitors except for parents of graduating Airmen)?

    *(comment for non-military people)

I totally loved my time in San Antonio for the Army at Fort Sam Houston -- Brooke Army Medical Center.

Not going to be the most relaxing Christmas on record, but probably one of the more memorable ones.

The next six weeks will obviously be pretty darned busy so I may not be around as much as I'd like...but this is my all-time favorite destination for procrastination, so it may not seem all that different to you guys. :P But obviously the last couple weeks of the year and a bit into the New Year, I may be totally unavailable until we're good and settled again. Hopefully it won't take all THAT long, though....depends on actual move-dates and such, which have yet to be determined.

Anyhow....for most, that probably seems an eternity away...but to me, it seems like tomorrow!! So I thought I'd give everyone a heads-up.....

Aww hope you arent too busy. Moving sucks! Well the actual move is ok, its the packing and loading and unloading and un packing I dislike most! I hope you all get a nice home and all. G'luck with the move! And enjoy your new home when you make the trip :)

    Thanks Akiva!

Hubby was promoted to LtCol back in September...and the new job he's going to will be second-in-command of a special Electronic Warfare squadron. Then the next job after that will be as squadron commander...HOPEfully somewhere in San Antonio...but ya never know.

The house we own is in Converse, near Randolph AFB because that's where we were stationed last....but this time he'll be working out of Lackland, so he'll have a bit of a commute to fuss with this time. (They do have more there than Basic Training...but that's certainly what it's best known for.)

And I'm very familiar with BAMC...when we lived in SA last, Dean had cancer and was treated there...so we spent a LOT of time there over the span of about a year.

It's a bittersweet move because we LOVE Texas and San Antonio.....but we also love Tucson, and were really hoping/expecting to be here longer. It'll be hardest on the kids to be pulled out of school in the middle of the year, but hopefully they'll run into old friends from a few years ago.

I hate the moving process! I just hate having to go through all those dang boxes. Who knew we accumulate so much stuff!!! :O I sure hope your move is smooth though, and that the kids transition well into their new school.
