Understandable...but if one knows that some may be offended by this new law..then why open up the thread and damage some peoples' emotions/opinions?

If you're offended, why even bother opening the thread much less replying to it?

I tend to "investigate" most, if not all, threads in this forum community. The title of this thread does not represent the topic which has been brought up.

That can be a two way street. You may damage some peoples emotions by posting in a negative manner in the thread as well. The best thing would be to turn the other cheek and not say anything if you have nothing nice to say at all.

On a personal note: Good job NJ! I knew I liked you guys for more than just giving me my Avatar!

I opened the thread and stated my opinion. I live in Canada, where gay marriage has been legal for over a year. Marriages, the economy, nor the country are falling apart as a result. I think it's great that we've allowed people to show everyone that they have made a commitment to each other in a legal sense, recognized by our government, and these freedoms should have come sooner. This is my opinion, yours is that you disagree with it.
You're welcome to say why you disagree, but I don't appreciate you judging this thread as useless. I see it as good and welcome news. If people don't come to this subforum for general discussion, a mod is welcome to close this.

I have a gay family member and like the majority of the American people am against gay marriage. With that said I have no problem with civil union's and all the goodie's they want to share just like hetero couples insurance benefit's etc. One more thing I hope my opinion does not get anyone angry it's just the way I feel about this divisive issue.

The gay marriage law is just wrong. but I am a strong believer in live and let live. and I would never ostracise someone because of their sexual preference.

Canada should pass a law against the men that come to the jersey shore and wear those little tight stretchy swim shorts. its just wrong. :O
