Well, there's that ... OR ... the "breeder" is pawning off a WC female that he has tried to breed for multiple seasons in a row and has gotten nothing ... OR ... the "breeder" bred her last year and she was impacted with a twisted ovi-duct and if she's ever bred again it could kill her.

Wouldn't be the first time a "breeder" misrepresented an animal in this business.

I am a breeder and I can tell you with 100% certainty that there is no way that I would sell the female you described for $150 ... especially if she was x-rayed by a vet and the vet confirmed that it was just a bone deformity.

    Just my :2cent:

Hmmm...Just thought of something! This female is at a pet shop right? Maybe he's just looking for a quick sale, you said its a rescue. He probably got it for less then nothing, and doesn't want to house/feed it.

Now that I think of it. When I bought my first ball python(exactly a year ago). It was a 4-5 foot female and she was $150 and at a pet shop. Then again, the girl who was working that day thought she remembered the shop owner wanting to keep her, but sold her to me anyways.

I'm a breeder, I wouldn't sell it ... that's the whole point of being a breeder, you need breedable females. ;) :sweeet:

I say rescue because I guess the lady who got rid of it didn't want it anymore because of it's size. They probably didn't pay too much for it I'm sure if anything. I would just like to see if it breed's (when it's ready after quarantine)

If it does cool, if not I'll still keep it as a big ball...

I think I'm going to get it...

It's a gamble as far as if it breeds or not, but either way a great pet to add to the collection. I'll keep you guys informed as far as if I get it or not and I will take pictures as well

    Re: Bone deformality?
Well, I got off the phone with a couple of breeders in my area and they both said that I wouldn't even be able to give it to them for free if i wanted to for the fact that bone deform. could be hereditary...I don't know...I'm going to look at another couple snakes today at another pet store. They aren't breeders or anything but they have a bunch of differen't ball pythons. I guess that have one that's 2000g's and one thats 2200g's they want $125 for either and are both females. As far as the price not everyone breed's and I don't know if this guy know's their value or if he just doesn't care and just wants to sell them quickly rather than mark them up to what they're worth...

It's worth checking them out and looking at them..
