    What a bunch of CROCK!?!????!!!

If there was a problem w/the land use code /ordinace or whatever, why did they approve the building permits at the very beginning!??? HUH? Just say "sorry Mr. S, you can' t build here because :blahblah: :blahblah:" and be done. Then they wouldn't have invested the time and money there and could take their business somewhere else.

And the person griping c. the pythons?! WTF!? "out in the middle of nowhere". Yeah, right. Like a BALL PYTHON is going to be ANY sort of threat to even a SMALL child. Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure....and I'll sell U the Brooklyn Bridge.

*SNORT* Just another fine example of SMALL minds being a waste of time.

It would be a travesty b/c of the money they've already invested. I hope they get their business, but I wouldn't be holding my breath if I were them.

It never ceases to amaze me why so many small towns go under or never recover economicallydue to such stupid reasons........

The sutherlands wont just be hurt by this ridiculous behavior....wont the school board or state lose revenue in the form of income tax, property taxes, etc? WHo wins from this? FEAR! That's it!

Couldnt the neighborhood use an infusion of captial and money from a successful business man? Just imagine the educational program that could have been done at the elementary school......people just dont listen to reason enough.

U know what it is, its all the bad publisity snakes have gotten since the bible. Sorry to hi jack a little but, In the bible a snake(the devil) told eve to eat the apple and thats where it began(BAD PUBLISITY) First off the bible was passed on though so many generations, by word of mouth b4 it was written so there is a good chance a lot of it is false(no one get mad about that i m a religous person but a realist also) Then though the two generations b4 me (I m 18) A series of moves came out and continue to come out this day, lets make a list.
1.PYTHON, a stupid, unrealistic, almost godzilla move
2.PYTHON 2 Not much better than the first
3.PYTHON VS. BOA OK if the first two sucked why make a third
4.ANACONDA now realy come on, nothin against the movie, cause it wasnt bad but so unrealistic
5.ANACONDAS(search for the blood orchid) Better than the first but still the same outcome
6.SNAKES ON A PLANE(most recent obviously) funny, unrealistic, and i think a corn snake killed someone in it, Probally with its huge venamous FANGS!

I m probally missing some so tell me but, u get the point it has been society that has purposly destroyed the reputation of the whole snake family!!!!

P.S. (I forgot this and i dont feel like editing)
St. Patrick, my favorite saint, my conformation saint but, he suposedly chased the snakes outta Ireland. If u do some reaseach, some say that St. Patrick was the only one that could see the snakes. Wait, do u smell that, oh it smells like BS!!!!!!!

I wish them luck. It sounds like if they could get a few bp's out and do some sort of public demonstration they're probably get the public calmed down a bit.

When non snake people think python, they tend to think of something at least bcc size or bigger :(

Unforunately, something similiar happened to Lee Watson's Swap. The new building for the swap is done. But the swap cannot be moved there, becuase it connects to a state highway. The state requires the business to pay for turn lanes, which are 100,000 each.

    .........

i think most people here already know this, i believe its mostly for the ordinance, and second for irrational fear. people fear what they dont know- they think these snakes can get bigger as in anaconda size and etc.

also- you do realize that only in western civilization is this true; in eastern snakes are reveared creatures. it just depends on where you live.

I love how a tatoo shop is more threating than the actual drugs that do go into a school. geez. its SOOO easy to flail on someone for building a tatoo shop- but dang its hard as crap to go rustle up the kids who blatently pass the pot around in the parking lot. which is more dangerous?

I think that maybe the protesters should get all the information before protesting (which they have every right to do, it's just stupid if they don't know all the facts). These are the same sort of people that protest against animal testing, they use half-truths to argue their points.

Well, as it's been said before, if it ain' cuddly and furry, most people don't want anything to do with it. Though I do agree with a previous poster playing the Devil's Advocate: It makes me wonder just how much the Sutherlands told the city about their 'plans for business' at the beginning--if they had informed them of just exactly what their business was going to be, I imagine the city would've told them from the getgo that it wasn't possible; They might not've been one hundred percent sure about the whole 'exotic' snakes thing, but I'm pretty sure the 'no rodent' law was already in effect. They probably could've saved themselves a whole hell of a lot of time and money and heartache. I'm not saying the Sutherlands lied or anything of that nature, but when you're starting a business, especially one of such a financial nature, it's a good idea to get all of your cards on the table in the beginning, so you don't have such troublesome financial problems later.
