Re: Corns now illegal in NJ??????
Being a corn breeder in NJ, and from what I have come accross, basically NJ will only allow morphs that do not have the normal coloration to be sold and kept as pets. (Please remember, normal corns are native here in South Jersey, the 51st State!, and you can not keep native reptiles.) They have those few morphs listed because they have been standards in the corn world for some time. There is no way the state can keep up with all the NEW morphs out there. The questionable area comes up with different patterns. In a trade, I got a pair of really nice striped corns that are so light in color that I would say they are not normals, but they are. When I have normals hatch-out I have to sell them at shows, or trade quickly. I do have some normals that friends in other states hold onto for me for breeding purposes, as they are loaded with morphs in their genes. I will be done with these in next few years.
In the end, it just is not worth the risk to keep the normals here in the state and risk having all my snakes taken in a raid. Plus who wants normals anymore, they sell for $10.00 in the trade.
Re: Corns now illegal in NJ??????
at least you can keep morphs. here in GA, ALL corns are illegal to keep.
