Now, If PETA would help support groups such as the SPCA...I would support them. I love watching Animal Planet...and I love watching these cops go in and cease animals that are in very poor health and almost dead...and then arrest the *******s who are responsible for the animals condition.

Agree 100%. PETA and SPCA are worlds apart when it comes to the positive benefits they bring to animals across our nation.

If PETA would spend a fraction of what they spend on Lobbying on actually helping animals, they might actually help animals instead of trying to take away the rights of individuals.

Actually, the SPCA isn't that great either. Check out this article about their views on exotic animals. For some reason they lumped all exotic animals together whether it's a monkey, lion, or cornsnake. :zerb:

Well PETA first started when the medical, movie and cosmetic industry was useing animals in a manner other than directed. And really hurting alot of animals. It help a ton of animals. However now that they have won that fight it seems like they are always out looking for the next one. And if you can't find a fight start one

oh my gawd! thats gotta be the bestest shirt! I love my cat dearly, heck more than i love some of my own family! i'd still wear it.

    my stand on peta.....
dont care all that much. what little bit I can contribute to local shelters I do because I believe every living thing deserves a chance. Rather its my pet, somenones ex-pet, or a blind one eared aardvark in the wild.(do they even have ears?) Do i believe I need to shove my views down other peoples throat? No. what gets me bye everyday is knowing Im doing what is right/logical to me. Thats why people who badger you about your views or your reasons for not signing there pettion get punched in the face or get their clipboard thrown into oncoming traffic.

Perhaps PETA was started with the best of intentions, perhaps not. Whatever was meant to be it's certainly not an organization I spend one minute on. When they have employees arrested for dumping dog carcasses in private garbage dumpsters (not their own dumpsters of course...wouldn't want that now would we), well I just have to write off folks like that.

Fact is PETA is about fanatics and fanatics are always dangerous no matter what cause they've attached themselves to. I just never have understood blind obedience or focusing in like that on something and losing one's common sense completely. I've always figured there must be something critical missing in your life if you have to find something to get fanatical about to the point of intruding on some else's freedoms.

I'm going to be very nice on this one. I will only say this and shut up.

They have the whole "one bad apple spoils the whole bunch" attitude, they see one sheep getting killed for there wool and feel that every body else is killing sheep. Alpaca should be shorn for there fiber, if not they can over heat in hotter parts of the world. They feel that this is cruel. They truly need to get a clue on life, the forces of nature and the whole "Survival of the Fittest”.

A snake needs to eat. I would love to see them try to force feed or even try to get a snake to eat a salad.

Or take all the dogs and cats in the world that are pets, let them go and see what happens to there “beautiful animal friends”, there little friends would all be eaten. If they did get there way we would all be wearing plastic as clothing, eating our super-sized tofu burger with processed cheese. And living a dull and boring life.

Ok here is a kicker for them. Plants: A living viable creature. To my understanding if you cut a plant it will weep sap or a form of liquid to create a scab like structure over the wound. If cut badly enough it too will die.

It might not feel pain in the way an animal with a brain could but a plant can get stressed, sick, and I think in a way it too can feel pain.
They should think next time before they just slice open that big ripe melon, and ask themselves “could I possibly be abusing this living form?”

I love a good salad, and I really loves me a good thick rare stake.
But PETA really needs to get a clue.
    I'm done now.
