i have a fuji S3000 - absolutely love it! i take a lot of really close up shots for my magazine and they always turn out soooo great!

we use rechargable batteries and i have other ones in my camera bag in case the recharge ones go dead... but mine last a long time so it's not often a problem.

i'm in canada so my price would be different from yours. but i paid $300 2 or 3 years ago...

edited to add: of course buying the available replacement for this one would be the way to go... as this one is probably discontinued by now :)
