    Hi Sam and welcome, If you do decide to go with a rubbermaid enclosure let me say they are much eaiser to control than a glass viv, I too went through similar problems you were having until I went to the tubs, as far as heating, humidity, and general maintenance is much easier so now I use them for all my snakes except 1.


    Here's a pic of the tub setups, no need for heating lamps, it's all done with flexwatt under the tub and controlled with a Johnson's t-stat (on the wall in the pic) the Johson controls all 6 tubs.

    The tubs without the temp gauges on the outside have the same temp/himidity gauge you are using on the inside of the tub.

    I do still use one viv (55 Gallon) for my 6.5 ft Boa because they don't make tubs for him. I thought controlling a 10 or 20gal was tough, the 55 is worse so I am going to be getting a veiwing style cage for him with the heat and what not already built in.
