BTW, have you been to Twin Cities Reptile since you are right up there? Is it worth the visit? How about Leapin' Lizards? I've heard they both have really nice stuff.

    Just wondering!

TCR is the place I go for all my BP needs, as a matter of fact. The people who work there are really knowledgeable about the animals they sell. they are a little higher priced than what I would like, but thats where I got everything for Nag.

I havent been to leapin lizards yet.

    Yay for adoption!!!

I myslef am waiting to hear from a animal welfare. The owner is still trying to decide which one they want to let go, since they have two. I cant seem to get enough of helping these guys.. they are so cute, and quite forgiving! (except to my pockets... none of them want to eat f/t! lol)

Congrats on your new family member, and kudos for adopting.
    Just beautiful :)

I've heard Bruce at TCR is a pretty good guy, I was told that I need to call him sometime and arrange to see some of his personal collection that he doesn't keep at the store. So someday I will make the trip up to see both.

Well, I went to the show today and at about three went outside to meet up with the rescue people...and they never showed up. I figured something must be wrong...so sadly I had to leave without Phara.

I got home, checked my email and sure enough the girl from the rescue had emailed my saying that they had an emergency come up. There isn't any real way that I can drive back 4 hours (750 miles round trip) and go pick up Phara, so unless she gets shipped to me she'll probably be going back up for adoption. :( I really would've liked to take her in...

If she does go back up, I'll let you guys know, so you local WI residents can hit up the great offer and help out a nice animal.

For those who might be interested, there's also Forgotten Friend in PA. I was going to adopt one of their rescues, but the weather got too cold before we could ship her. :(

Sadly, there are too many herps & other reptiles, or just critters in general, that need a good, FOREVER home. I wished we weren't such a "throw away" society/world. :tears:

Oh darn that's too bad Jason. Lesson for all of us to get cell numbers and so forth when meeting up with anyone for a pickup. Actually I was amazed a rescue would adopt her out to anyone for breeding use. The only reptile rescue back in MI is dead strict about not adopting anything out if you will use it for breeding purposes so you lucked out there. Could just be that rescue though, they don't even return emails when you enquire about a specific snake. Well if you can't give her a home I'm sure someone on this forum would be thrilled to make her a valued part of their collection.

She actually asked me if I was planning on buying a male for her at the show. I inquired about the terms of the adoption, just to make sure breeding was okay, and sure enough nothing against breeding. I asked just to make sure and she told me that she thought it was fine because the snake was in great health.

I never thought to get a cell number, which I should have done. I really hope someone else from here takes her so I know she'll be well cared for.

Too bad about your local rescue, not very professional of them to not return emails.

Very good news. I will be adopting her tomorrow most likely. I will give her a good home.

Congrats on getting her...I'm still bummed that I couldn't. Post some pictures when you get her home.
