a fatal dose of sea snake venom is 0.05fl oz. the snake makes about 0.3-0.5fl oz. one bite could kill up to 10 people. but the fangs are set far back and they arent crazy biters.

I read that in my new book.....gosh this books got some good info!

I wouldnt want a sea snake i can hardly take care of all the betta fishes needs. But who wouldnt want to say they own a king cobra..that just sounds cool! Although...would it be wise?

Wise? Well that depends on the person considering it! Those who have adequate experience can stay very safe with hots. The key is knowing the animal, and to have a plan if something goes wrong. Anyone considering getting into hots someday would learn a lot by owning an aggressive, but harmless snake for awhile, and learning how not to get bit, and how to safely handle and move an aggressive snake.

I know the feeling, I had 2 Chilean Rose Hairs and the male was fine, but the female tried to tag me a couple of times. Both made me itch though, their hair is some kind of defense mechanism, almost like porcupine quills.

    Sorry for hijacking! ;)

I would love to work my way up to a Albino Monocled Cobra some day. I think they are so cool and only priced at $150. I also want to get a copper head in the future. I love the pattern on them and the venom is some what on the weaker side. Also they are heavy bodied and hook great. But yeah, Albino Monocled Cobras are awesome.

I know this is an old thread, but I was reading though these anyways, and....*eek!* I don't do so well with the whole 8-legged thing...or any that look like them. They scare the life out of me, yet I still have to google each name to see what it looks like...dumb! haha And after looking at all the creepy crawlys, a cricket (an escapee from the chamelion cage) skittered past my foot....talk about a heart attack. :crix: I thought I was about to be eatten alive by whatever 'large spider' was attacking my foot. :bolt: I'm such a chicken when it comes to these things... :spid0r: :D

i have 2 kings and they are more for milking than much else. nobody owns seasnakes aas they will die shortly after capture.

by the way my kings are far smarter than any bp. they know the exact time and day of the week when its feeding day. my ballpythons fail in comparison.:colbert:

I had read somewhere that King Cobras are one of the smartest snakes there is. Very in tune to what is going on around them.
