Hopefully they didn't kill it for this.I don't think it will sell , at least I hope not.
I can't imagine that anyone would kill a valuable pastel just so they could put it in a jar and sell it for $30. Still.....ick.

Re: Pickled Python
It says the animal was NOT killed for the item. It's probably just some guy that came in and found his snake DOA and decided to see if he could make a couple bucks. *shrug* It doesn't bother me, but you still won't see me bidding on it either. ;)

Re: Pickled Python
meh... lots of biology freaks have a collection of animals like this. i even worked with a guy that skinned his 12ft boa when it died and mounted it on the wall... looks interesting, but i don't think i could do it to a 'pet'.

:O
my ex-step-dad had a 5 foot rattlesnake skin on his wall that was all mounted and whatever...it still even had its rattle....i used to stand on a chair to reach it and i would pet it and talk to it and stuff cuz i felt bad for it lol, then i would get yelled at for touching it lol...that dead snake on the wall is what started my love for herps lol...kinda weird but oh well

Geez folks lighten up, Most of you don't mind looking at such a display at say the Smithsonian.
He said it wasn't killed to put in the jar which as JLC said makes sense cuz who would kill a pastel to put in a jar ????
Some folks dig this type of stuff and others use it for education purposes.
Nothing wrong with it in my book.
How about the guy who when his wife died he had her preserved and put in a glass sealed coffee table so she would be there all the time, how'd ya like to set your drink or put your feet up on that ??? :)
I think the jar deal is amusing.

Wow, the coffee table idea is pretty strange, even to me!
