Re: Why did YOU get into snakes/reptiles?
i try very hard to NOT do spur of the moment impulse buys when it comes to critters... in the past, anything i buy on impulse doesn't work out. so i do the research first.

my son has been asking for a snake since he was little and my eldest daughter is terrified of spiders and snakes... so i promised we'd never get one as long as she lived at home.

well she moved out last oct and a week before she left i bought my ball... just didn't bring him home from the breeders until she was gone.

how i chose a ball was... i started investigating corn snakes for my son and during that research i fell in love with balls (even though i had never held a snake and was terrified myself...) so when i went to the breeders, he put dexter in my hand and i was hooked.

my son decided he didn't want a snake after all so i got the ball for myself and now i've added two corns to my collection. ;) my son loves to hold them, but doesn't want one for himself... which is cool with me cause this way they live in the living room instead of in his bedroom!
