Re: Hides in tubs in racks..
Back to the originial thread question, I use just one hide per tub in my rack for the adults.
Most of the time my adults never even use the hides, other than to bask on top of them. But they've got hides in case they want that extra closeness during a shedding period or whatever.
Re: Hides in tubs in racks..
ive been wondering the same thing about having a hide for my BP's once i get the rack built. i know vanessa will need atleast one because she's only about 40" and its a CB-70 rack, but do you think zulu will? he's a big boy, over four feet long (just slightly over though) and hes around 1550 grams. im thinkin ill just give them both atleast one hide because i think it reduces stress for them, you know... havin a nice, quiet, dark place to go.

I would say give them as many as you can. Why take the risk if you cannot ascertain for a fact that they don't need one. Remember, they live in tight burrows in the wild. I'm pretty sure this behavior is carried on in domestic living conditions as well. This is my opinion based on what I have read and observed so far. Unless a really experienced breeder with many years experience under the belt who have made acute observations on the matter says otherwise, I'm stickin to this :D
