I know you are looking for larger hides, but figured it wouldn't hurt to post for others who may have younger ball pythons and are also interested in what people are using. The upside down bowls were purchased in a pack of three for $1. You can get them at Dollar Tree and Dollar General. They also sell a larger version. The purple box came in a set of three for $3 at Dollar General. I flipped it upside down and soldered an entrance facing the water bowl. The "kids" love this hide!

That's what I'm talking about, it looks good and is practical. That tub also looks pretty big what kind is it?

Thanks! It's a 41 quart Sterilite 1986. Hopefully it has some "growing" room. I also have sets of those same bowls in a larger size when they outgrow these. I'm amazed that they are able to cram their whole bodies inside the purple hides, but they do it!

Also, hopefully Jo will come along and see this thread and post some pictures of the hides she uses for her big girls. She has nice Sterilite set-ups too!

Where did you get that awesome waterbowl from? It looks heavy and that's exactly what I need for my tub.

I got those waterbowls from the store I work at, I think SuperPet makes them, or at least tags the ones we have. I've got a 3000g female who rearranges her tub on the regular, and has yet to overturn one.

I can get them for about $3 a piece. They probably wouldnt be too hard to ship if you wanted me to pick you up a few, I've got tons of bubblewrap. Let me know!

Do you work at a pet shop? The name brand sounds familiar to me.

Yea, I do, they retail for 5.99, I get dry goods at cost. If you can't find them locally, let me know and I can pass my savings on to you (or anyone else for that matter). Shipping shouldn't be too bad, less than 10 bucks for 4 or 5 of them.....PM me if you are interested

Here's a few things we have.

This is our male when he was around 150 grams or so in his baby hide. It's just the water overflow saucer from under a terracotta plant pot. He's outgrown this now of course and has plastic bowl hides like Robin showed in her pictures.

This is an adult female in the hides I use for all my bigger bp's. They are actually heavy rubber dog dishes from a local farm/feed store. I love them other than it takes heavy wire cutters to put entrances in them due to the very tough rubber construction.

This is my biggest female Brannagh at around 2,000 grams in her tub. Two hides, her water dish...the Acu-Rite was out of the tub as I'd just finished cleaning and hadn't put it back when I took this picture. The snakes seem to like the heavy hides. They don't move around much as the rubber sort of sticks a bit plus they have that nice flat roof to hang out on.

I will say these dishes are okay to about 2,000 grams or so....Brannagh has pretty much outgrown the hides so I'm looking around for a bigger one of the same construction.

I can only hope and wish that more new bp owners would take a page out of Jo and Robins book. Its the "poster child" of setups imo :judge: :D
