    Congrats!

You know you are a herper when you hear caramel, cinnamon, lemon, and butter and don't think of any kinda food.

I have been following this thread for awhile, but my "you know you're a herper if"..was already taken. So I have been sitting here wondering what to post to this one, and I just caught it in my own post.

You know you're a herper when, you ask fellow herpers to possibly post a pic of thier rodent pick up from a new supplier to see how they package them in comparison to your current rodent supplier.

My other one that was taken was..you know you're a herper when you go to the local market to buy baby food and a cashier asks, "ohh how old is your baby and can I see a pic?" and you tell her as you whip out the pic of your crested geckos, these are my babies, I have 3, and she politely says " wow, you must be busy with triplets", and after looking at the pic, she gives you an odd look and says, those are lizards, not babies. So you reply "well, they are not just any lizard, they are crested gecko, and yes they are MY babies!"

Truth me told, this happened last week to me!

Lol, Jeanne! That is too funny!

I always feel like such a dork in the baby food isle... especially when I only grab a couple of jars. They must think I'm starving the poor kid!

Hey Jeanne, have you ever gotten your Mali to eat baby food? Mine is just a picky eater. It has to be shredded carrots and either chicory or turnip greens/collard greens or he ignores it. I wish he would eat a better variety of foods.

You know Lynn, its funny, when my kids were young enough to eat baby food, I NEVER bought it, I made it myself.... but now, I think cause I am older and realize how much work it is to make it and find a way to store it, now that I have geckos to eat that, I refuse to make it, esp. now since they have organic stuff available.

Actually, he gets some occassionally. He does not eat it like it is going out of style or anything, but he sure loves his greens ALOT. He eats the same mix I give my dragons, I found that the more "tart" (not sure if thats the right description) type of greens really attract them to the food. Or those that seem to have really strong smells. When I feed all my veggie eating lizards, I like to add things that make thier food smell stronger, like fresh parsley in small amounts, italian parsley and cilantro along with the ones you mentioned. Kale is a winner around here in any mix too.
