How long have you breed ball pythons or until you will breed ball pythons?

Not sure why you would breed it to a normal male when you can pick up a 100% Het Albino male that is ready to breed for under $100 and at least have a chance at producing Albinos on their first clutch...:confused:

I plan on breeding this upcoming year (2008-2009). My 100% het piebald male to a normal female.

I believe my first year of hatching ball pythons was 2002. Breeding a normal male to 2 normal females, two clutches of eggs, 6 eggs in each clutch hatched 11 babies. Ten of which survived. I decided to keep all the females and so I set them up in two groups. One to keep and the other to sell. But then a couple of years later I found that I must have accidentally switched the groups and sold off the wrong ones because all the ones I kept were the males...... DOH!!!

i bought ten babies from qfp in texas, and four died (you get what you pay for, and i paid ten bux per baby, still sad though) anyway, the heaviest is up to 145 g, but im only feeding once a week, not once every five days, and only one size appropriate meal. my friend, who is a breeder, is feeding her hatchlings 2-3 smaller meals a week and her babies are getting huge, but knowing my luck, it would backfire, so im just gonna take things nice and slow. i got a het ghost male that is breeding weight, so depending on how things go in december (my hubby is in the navy and he's getting orders) if we stay where we are, i might try to breed the next season if i can find a relatively cheap het ghost female, but if not, im just gonna wait until all my babies are ready and breed in two to three years ( my hubby and i cut a deal that for the next two years he can use any extra spending money on whatever he wants, as long as the third tax check, i get it ALL for snakes :) ) so we'll see. i want to start breeding now, but i dont want to put my snakes through too much stress, especially if we have to move next february. that is my plan, and it keeps changing slightly, but for now im gonna wait. :D
