Yes, they're not the best "pets", that's for sure. No matter how pretty, if I'm keeping a snake, I want the ones I can relate to & handle. Otherwise, I might just

I completly understand, me and my daughter volunteer at the dog/cat shelter every week, sometimes twice. I adopted all 4 of my dogs and one of my ball pythons. But I’m not against paying for something I really want either.

IMHO it's less about what someone is willing to pay and more about what the animal is worth to the person selling. The seller in question obviously takes a lot of pride in these animals, and feels they're worth the dollar amount. As a person respectful of the work that goes into producing living beauty, I'm not going to downplay this price, nor criticize it. I personally can't afford it, but that doesn't mean the price is too high.
