So glad there was a quick happy ending. Snakes are great escape artists and will find the tiniest openings that we wouldn’t think they could squeeze through. I’ll agree that if you keep snakes long enough, you are bound to experience an escapee at some point. We’re all human and can get interrupted or distracted and can forget to latch an enclosure...or the snake finds a flaw in the enclosure and uses it.

if anyone has a better brand to reccomend im all ears!
I use those on two of my enclosures. They're solid. You may need to bend them a bit to get them to hold the lid down tight, but it's a simple tweak. Once they're in place they are extremely reliable.

thanks so much for the input. i currently have multiple heavy medical books from my mom's nursing career placed on his enclosure until they come. [emoji3]

Ha! I was super paranoid after Cosmo's escape and did the same thing....overkill as heck but I just had to!!!

I have these for my 1 glass tank (sand boa), and they're great. Pretty sure the instructions tell you to bend them to fit tight since the base piece can slide in more or less on some tanks and/or have slight differences between manufacturers. :)
