Diverticulitis is no fun. Requires some change of eating habits in most cases, but it is managable. You’ll probably be given some info on what to look for in future flare ups, and how to prevent them. Wishing you a speedy recovery with no complications.

My sister in law had a bad case of diverticulitis 2 years ago, it landed her in the hospital as well. She said that the pain was so incredibly intense that they thought about calling an ambulance because she got very scared.

None of us had ever heard about this issue either prior to that.

She managed to avoid surgery, but only just so. Spent a couple of days on a IV for pain and hydration.

Since then she has changed her diet somewhat, and makes sure to exercise regularly. So far she hasn't had any more problems.

What a bummer that this had to hit you during this time of year, but now the worst is passed and you can heal up and recuperate in time for Christmas.

We miss you in here and we are sending healing thoughts. Bump up that heat, keep the humidity level and make sure you relax in a safe and cushy "hide" ;)

Hey Zig - glad the surgery went well and I wish a speedy recovery and smooth transition to your new diet plan.

Thanks for sharing with the group Ricky

*edit* - maybe we should start a thread/forum for members that are sick or having surgery or need to evacuate so we can check up on them?
