Weekly feedings seem to be the most common interval at hatchling stage. If you recieved a new hatchling that was underfed by the breeder for maintenance purposes they recommend feeding every five days for a short amount of time to get some weight going.

    My feeding plans:

Once a week until I hit large rat stage.

Large rats once every two weeks until I hit rabbit stage.

    Rabbits 3 weeks.

..the breeders I run into that feed rabbits weekly all have MONSTER sized Burms (you're talking some with 130lb males within a few years). The healthiest animals Ive seen are fed rabbits once every three weeks....healthy builds, not overfed.

You've already got a Burm, and you know it's going to be a big snake regardless. Why try to rush the process? Ya know?

    That's just my $0.02

100% on the money here^^ .. And if Rabbits are to expensive (Large Rats Frozen here are $3.50 and live $9 ) then 2 large rats are perfectly healthy every 3/4 weeks for a adult Burm. People thing a Huge Burm sounds cool, but it honestly causes more of a mess when they are a few years old. Their Body doesnt need all that food and they end up having Huge Waste deposits. To me thats a Pain to clean, a waste of money and a fat unhealthy snake. No different than a obese person. What Kevin said about the Liver has been medically found over years of research. Not sure if it takes many years off a life, but who knows possibly could take a healthy snake that would live 25 years down to 18-20. The crapping and blowing piss up the glass doors was enough for me to regulate feeding over 20 years. Idk anybody that likes a 16' snake sliding through mounds of crap all the time because they dont use up what they eat. Try keeping over 11 feet off your floor and from dripping as your carrying them to the Bath Tub lol.

Im not saying that it's the incorrect way to do things or even making insults, but in a four day interval there is no way your Burm can be fully digesting a large rat before it's given another. Are you sure he didnt tell you to feed every four days as a hatchling instead?

There isn't a snake on earth that can handle that kind of feeding interval with large prey without suffering from inevitable morbid obesity. Retics for example have crazy fast metabolisms and I don't know anyone who feeds large rats every four days. A Burm has an even slower metabolism than a Retic....

She spent the whole day basking under the ceramic digesting.

But now over 24 hours after eating those 2 rats she seems to still be in feed mode. Tracking movement outside of the cage and poised to strike.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e954528f0f.jpg

Again I’m not arguing feeding habits I am doing what works for me and keeps my snake happy as for feeding large rats every four days I honestly don’t have a problem with it considering my female burm don’t even have a lump anymore after feeding Thursday , as far as other people go everyone has different information and I’m just doing as instructed by brad which is a VERY well known breeder of snakes in Pittsburgh and here to just share my love and passion of snakes

Ah right ha ha. No not as far as I know.

I'm wondering if I was underfeeding her on one weaner a week as she seems more active since I fed her two last night.

Do your snakes still look for food 24 hours after being fed?
