I thought it was Petsmart and Petco policy to not feed live at all, only frozen. And dont they only have adult mice as their stock of frozen? So it would boil down to either the snake eats a meal WAY too big or doesnt eat. Anyways correct me if i am wrong but that was what someone told me that worked at Petsmart.

I got my banana california kingsnake from Petco. I saw him In there one day while I was in getting some other stuff and noticed they were trying to feed him..crickets...I thought about him for several days before going back for him. That was almost a year ago by now.

I believe it is policy to only feed frozen. They won't even sell a mouse or rat at my local stores if you say it's going to be a prey item.

The stores by me carry pinkies and adult mice, as well as adult rats.

I have a local Petco and Petsmart. The Petco, while not knowledgeable, does sell me mice as feeders. I can also vouch they have a range of frozen feeder rats and mice.

Petsmart has a policy to only sell frozen feeders. I tried to get a live rodent from them once and ended up getting in a huge argument with the manager.

My sister in law works for Petco and I asked why there were 4 balls in one display with one hide. She said corporate has a layout and it must be followed or face repercussions. So she contacts me and says she needs help. They have a ball that hasn't eaten and has been to the vet a few times. I said find someone to house it (I don't take chances with my collection) and Ill get it to eat. So it goes to the Vet for 2-3 days, comes back and her friend is going to take it. I was going to take food over there and get it to eat. The day her friend was supposed to pick it up, it died.

The Pet Smart in Temecula off of Temecula Parkway is horrible. Ball Pythons in 107 degrees on the gauge, humidity is 20% and they were so dry. I told the clerk and she called and said "customer says snakes need water" over the radio. So sad...
