Re: Away until Tuesday ...
Children's pythons are a fine choice. They aren't flashy snakes, but they are docile from what I hear.
I didn't say kings or milks because often the babies are shy, skittish little *bleeps*. My cali king and my black king both were bitey babies.
Re: Away until Tuesday ...
Hey those are nice too Joanna. Thanks for the link. Must start researching, it's only a half hearted thing right now, especially with my new ones coming in. Can't give the old husband a heart attack all at once....must gently ease him into it. ;) I'm a bad bad wife.
Re: Away until Tuesday ...
I've seen the kings in action.... good gracious they were snappy! Spazzy little snakes! Too many choices! Thanks for the input guys...keep em coming.
Re: Away until Tuesday ...
Hmm.. savu python.. calabar burrowing python (really cool snakes).. roughscale sand boa.. rosy boa..
Re: Away until Tuesday ...
Really? All of those are pretty relaxed and easily handled? Gotta get to some of these herp shows!!!
Re: Away until Tuesday ...
Yup. Savus can be feisty babies, but that's true of many snakes.
Re: Away until Tuesday ...
Hey Shelby! Is there any good caresheets you can point me to on the Kenyan Sand Boas? I could google it I guess but I was wondering if you knew of a more reliable source.
Re: Away until Tuesday ...
I can tell you whatever you want to know.
Basically.. keep babies in shoeboxes. Adult males 10 gallon or equiv, females in 20g.
90-92 warm side 80-82 cool.. don't go below 75 degrees.
50% humidity.
Use deep loose substrate so they can burrow.. no hide boxes needed.
Re: Away until Tuesday ...
Good gracious those really are tiny little snakes!! Are they snappy as babies or are they relatively calm then too? Those are pretty cool! Thanks so much for the info. :D
Re: Away until Tuesday ...
They were the calmest baby snakes I've ever seen. More so than your average corn even.
