I have a pastel enchi (not a great pastel example, but pretty good on the enchi side). I have noticed that the orange coloration has stayed nice and bright and increased a little with age (she is about 2 now) but the rest of her markings have faded a little / become more muted. Her head has also stayed nice looking/ bright.

Enchi, hypo, and fire/vanilla/disco stuff tend to stay really nice and/or get better with age. Ultramels are also one of my favorites as they tend to keep their rich colors and contrast.

Dark morphs like cinnamon, black pastel, phantom and leopard tend to age pretty well too.

Imo, this pretty much nailed it other than you forgot one and quite possibly the best and that is desert ghost. My pastel desert ghost girl blows away anything I've seen as far as bright beautiful color and contrast and she is over 2000 grams now, looks as good if not better as the day I got her.

Here is a picture of my Enchi Hypo female. She is 2500 grams and 6 years old. I think she still looks pretty good.

I gotta agree with you. I think desert ghost ages better than any other gene in terms of retaining and actually increasing brightness. This is especially apparent when combined with pastel. DG leads to a complete 180 in the aging process of pastels, where instead of browning out they just keep getting more and more yellow.

Here's a quick pic of my Pastel DG male who is almost 1500g and about 4 years old.

    Oh, you're right!:P

My mind was so stuck on the more common and generally more affordable stuff that I didn't even think about DG. They definitely are unmatched as far as how they age, except by maybe the Enhancer Ball and the Sahara (though Enhancer has apparently been proven compatible with DG and I wouldn't be surprised if Sahara does too).

Nice looking bps! I love that DG... I have been very interested in that gene and hypo... I'd love to see a combination of those (maybe an enchi DG hypo?).. Although hypo may wash out the contrast too much.

Well first beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it really depends what you like to start with, some people like it dark, some like it bright, some like it busy, reduced.

I have 2 females I am very proud of one is a Pastel YB Pied and she is bright (browning out there) and I have a stunning Banana Clown female., obviously I like things on the bright side.

In general mutations with Hypo, YB, Fire, Desert Ghost and alike will age very well.

Best I've seen is a stunning male BEL (this one was a super lesser). I absolutely adore white snakes. My super fire, Selkie, isn't full grown yet, but she's looking like she will be a beautiful adult!

Black pastel seems to keep great contrast when mixed with albino as the snakes age. Otherwise when albino is the only gene at play the colors seem to fade together over time.
