And do snakes growth get stunted? This one is not much bigger than my baby of 7 months old and this one is nearly 3

No way that guy is 3 years old. So you decided to rescue a snake, but you aren't sure if snakes suffer from fish tank syndrome? Good on you for saving the snake if it was a legit move, but your rapid response posting makes me believe that you are trying to do damage control. This thread is fishy.

It's where the fish grows slowly in small environments. In any event, if what you claim is true, congrats on the new snek.

Snakes don't get fish tank syndrome, but they do grow only as much as they eat. Could be A) a male (which tend to stay smaller) + B) underfed, which would match up with what you said before. Being fed once every other week or even once a month for an adult snake wouldn't put it in starving territory, but would still slow down the nutrients available for growth. You may see a rapid growth spurt if you start feeding regularly (once a week).

Totally honest though, just fess up to your teacher, tell her about any issues you believe the living conditions have, let her explain, and ask if you can buy it if you want.

Also, from the words "rescue mission" in the title, I do believe the OP stole it. Sounds like kids when they imply stealthy action lol.

Honestly, I could 100% see myself or someone in my age group saying that they went on a rescue mission and snagged a snake from a bad owner on craigslist and meaning that they went and paid no to minimal fee to pick up a snake in bad shape with the agreement of the owner, which is why I didn't get the same connotations from the post as everyone else seemed to. I got more of a dramatic storytelling vibe from it personally. Doesn't rule out the other interpretation, but since the OP has since said that he did not steal it and there's no way to know otherwise, makes it a moot point for now in my view. But yeah, snake looks in pretty decent health which is always good news.

Also one quick question, ugh heater or lamp? And what would be best for a 30 gallon terrarium, size:strength wise, I'm currently using a heat lamp because I'm more used to those with my past bet if a bearded dragon
