My boy's name is Smaug, after the dragon in The Hobbit. It's what I've wanted to call my snake since I first decided I wanted one. I was six-ish, my dad had been reading Tolkien to me at bedtime since I was really little (they were my favourites), and Smaug was my favourite character (always had a thing about dragons when I was a kid) so the name I picked for my dream pet came naturally.

Two decades later I just got my first snake, I'm still a big Middle Earth fan and it was important to me that I was making a lifelong dream happen, so I stuck by my six-year-old self's name choice. :D





(If I ever get another, it'll be Glaurung to carry on the theme, but that's not happening because the other half isn't a snake fan and I'm forbidden.)

Emrys is from the BBC show Merlin, Circe and Calypso are godesses I like the names of, and Tessa is from the Shadowhunter series by Cassandra Clare. My cats have Japanese names, because I'm a weeaboo.

I don't have any yet, but I have 4 names lined up, and I'll pick the one that is most suitable for the BP that I get. Gumby, Pudge, Wizard, and Hoover. Those are the nicknames of my favorite baseball players of all time.

I'm going to get 2, but as one will be my daughter's, I'm going to let her name that one.

I plan on posting pics of anything I get.

In order that I got them:

Cake- I REALLY wanted to name a pet a cute food name, and he was yellow and white like lemon cake!

Yukon- I love the landscape and nature in that canadian territory. LOL. And he is pure white with blue eyes, like snow.

Drizzle- It was drizzling when she arrived that morning.

Blissey- My first "proven female" to lay my first clutch, so I named her after the egg pokemon!

Togetic (sold now, but still)- I just like the pokemon.

I have this weird habit of quoting movie lines, and know a few people who are afraid of snakes; so this is his name.

Arlo and Alice (because I liked the names), Albie (because he's white), then I just decided to stick to A names. Althea (Grateful Dead) and Ampersand (the monkey from "Y: The Last Man"-one of my favorite comics)
