Presumably there's a thermostat regulating any heat source and you're not using one of those stick on plastic thermometers to check temps ..

Next paycheck treat yourself to a ten dollar digital heat gun ( you may already have one actually ) ...

I’m using probes since they’re always regarded as the “best”, i should definitely get a heat gun for my own. Ive been borrowing my grandpas but only use it once in a blue moon. My set up is a coconut pulp x wood bark mix in substantially large sterilite tub. I use a 70W head lamp and CHE along with ¿ceramic? Hide on the hot side and a half wood on the cool side. I buried the half wood into the substrate so there isn’t another side to poke out from. I have packing tape on a fluker’s heat mat on hot-to-middle part of the tub. “Decorations” include drift wood, a small half log in the middle she like to bask on (too small to go under but i keep i anyway) and a sort or clay water dish. Im looking into going bioactive but i might save that for next year. Hope this is a good enough set up for the mean while, i still want to shoot for the moon and give her the BEST.
