Nice jungle gym there - full pic next time? What enclosure is that?
Ok got the silk vine for him and Luna. Here is the finished 'baby' cage for danger noodle until he gets big enough for the T10.

Good looking rigging Sauzo!

Well that is neat, but I'm in agreement with Reinz on the calming down part of carpets. I think the Aussie snakes are some of the most social, entertaining and hardy snakes out there and carpets lead the way.
I never like to see a carpet go so I'm a bit saddened to see you didn't enjoy her.
That said Hog Island boa constrictors are quite special. Of the boa group the island localities tend to be more arboreal than the mainland boa, yet the mainland group is far from terrestrial. I catch my big male Barranquilla, Colombian climbing and perching almost nightly.
I am enjoying my retic, actually a lot, but I love my BC and carpet and could never get rid of either of them in a trade. I always thought I'd try to dump my son's royal for something too but the longer I keep these animals the more I learn, and the more I respect their species specific behaviors and their individual traits.
Don't take that as a negative post, I'm actually happy you have a Hog. They are really underrated and beautiful, so congrats!
I just have a DEEP affection for carpets. If I added another snake it would become a shootout between a Bredli or Suri,
Keep the pictures coming. There are not a lot of Hog Island folks posting here.

Yeah I did like the carpet but I've always been a boa guy plus I honestly really never looked forward to messing with the JCP. I mean the bites didn't hurt but it just got old getting bit or having the snake be totally defensive even when I went to change water. Plus to me a retic is just a smarter more interactive carpet lol. I would never get rid of the crew I got now as they are all loungers and I have grown attached to all of them since they don't try and kill me every time I reach in.
I think my personal nitch for snakes is boas and retics. I love Dottie and Luna but if I get anything else, it will be a Peruvian BCC or maybe a nice suri or another SD retic. Caesar is just awesome. Even after running into him when he was half out of his cage watching me feed the snakes to next to his cage, the only thing he did was back up alittle into his cage and look at me. I was praying he didn't try and bite me haha. He is a total lounger although he is getting pretty darn big.
And yeah this little danger noodle is a climbing machine. He has been climbing all over the silk vine since I got it for him lol. He went inside one hide for a couple hours and then was out and cruising around the pvc gym and the silk vine. The most active little baby I've seen. He ate a small hopper mouse when I brought him home last night but today I tried to offer him another one and he just looked at it lol. I guess he isn't a pig like moe, larry and curly(Caesar, Vicky, Rosey) and Luna. That little dumerils is a pig too.
And I love how Hogs change color. During the day, danger noodle darkens up some but come night, he turns like a really light brown. And I do take your post as a hate post!!! I'm so offended!! J/k. Everyone likes what they like. Bottom line is better to rehome an animal you aren't really fond of or attached to than to end up neglecting it because of said point.
Here's danger noodle exploring the vine.

Re: New little Hog Island boy
Love Hog Islands boas!! Have two myself :D Just found my female recently
Here are mine:

Here is my male, Pazuzu. (Ignore the dirty floor, cleaning out that closet haha)

And here is my female, Regan.
The thing I've noticed about Hogs is that when they are younger they climb alot. My male is 2 years old now and around 1600 grams. He prefers to curl up in his hides as opposed to climbing now.

Yeah my guy LOVES to climb. What I noticed is he changes color between day and night lol. During the day, he tends to run a little darker in color but at night, he lightens up.

Ok so I got some confusing news lol. After a certain person who I wont name....actually yes I will...brianzor!! Not mad man, just giving you grief lol. I asked around and showed pictures and a few people as well as Diem Marie on Boa Constrictor Keepers believe danger noodle is actually a T+ Albino Nicaraguan and not a Hog. And after looking at the pics of them, he does kind of look like that. So the owner of the reptile shop was wrong!! And so was I lol. Good thing I'm not looking to breed and just liked his colors and temperament, otherwise I would probably go back get a credit. Anyways so now danger noodle is T+ Nic Albino lol. At least I know he is a male though haha.

Congratulations, Sauzo! Luna, our hog island is a giant couch potato (well, shoulder potato, really), but your sweet little jungle gym setup has me thinking maybe she needs more in-cage enrichment. We get a lot of joy out of watching Luna's colors change and I'm sure you and danger noodle have many happy hours of color-changing ahead, especially as the little guy grows.
