The construction project I'm currently on is ending soon after 2.5 years of a pretty rough one. That's not the negative, the negative is that I just got word about my new project which will add another 30 minutes each way to my commute. So instead of a 4 hour per day commute, it's now a 5 hour per day commute (that's right 2.5 hours each way) On the bright side though is that my new project is in Coney Island, Brooklyn so I will be fat and happy with all the original Nathans I'm sure I will be eating :)

You've never heard of the food chain Nathan's Famous hot dogs? The original one is in Coney Island, NY (and will be 3 blocks from my new jobsite)

The lack of management and organization just makes it inconvenient for everyone they need to work with. And I end up almost being "late" for my deadlines, because they failed to inform me of certain things until the last minute... and they go and ask me "did you finish ~this~?" And I reply that I never got the file, and if there has been a mistake. They don't seem to realize that they're the ones who forgot to send me the file or forgot to let me know. Like it ALMOST feels like they're purposely trying to screw me over.

Because of this, it makes it look like it's "my fault" to my boss or anyone higher up.

Just some unsolicited advice from someone who was in the trenches (also a private corporation) a long time ago.

I go by what people DO, not by what they SAY. They may not be consciously trying to sabotage you, but that IS the result, so the intentions don't really matter. CYA!!! Document everything. You can always send that e-mail chain to your boss if people withheld stuff you needed. Obviously, keep it all neutral, calm and professional. Sociopathic back-stabbers exist in every office, and can be very good actors. Many people who are depressed (and unwilling to responsibly acknowledge that) will want to drag everyone else down to their level. You just have to wade thru that, but don't waste time it, or make yourself vulnerable to it.

Someone brought in a newborn kitten who'd been abandoned by its stray/feral mother to the shelter I work at yesterday. It managed to survive the night, but we can't offer care for neonates here, so it'll probably be euthanized today. Fragging bummer.

Nope the furthest east I've been is Montreal and I've never been to anything in NE. I'm going there in March though so maybe I'll grab one

I have been sitting in the Lincoln tunnel for about 20 minutes now and I can not see the light. The relatively generous buffer time I give myself to get to work on time is rapidly eroding.
Note: I know it's not unusual to spend far longer on any of the crossings, but not at this time of day.

Oh fer christs sake, a damn tow truck just went by. Now I'm going to stop messing on B-P and call my boss

AND.... a guy just saw on his phone there has been a bus accident in front of us - FML
i mean I guess it's better than being in the accident myself, but just barely.
