Yeah I guess so

I'd ask the guy to see his albino parent. Something seems fishy... What is the ratio of males to females? Maybe it's sex-linked somehow and similar to coral glows, you may have all males or all females and maybe you need the other for a visual. Just guessing, but how can anyone be that unlucky?

Re: Fake Hets
1 male to Every 2 females. What do you mean about the coral glows

No it doesn't work like that

You have a better chance of winning the powerball jackpot and then a coin flip on top of that. There is always a chance a het will never prove out during its lifetime. However when it comes to such low chances the alternative becomes more and more likely. Which in this case is he was lied to about the hets.

It would be smart to get an albino or two to pair to the females he picked up. Along with increasing the odds of producing a visual (assuming the females are truly hets), at the very least if they don't prove, he'll have produced some females he can be 100% about the genetics of.

This is what I do with unproven hets where at all possible. I just had to wait it out with my het lavenders and got 2 visuals this season but lucked out on 2 possible hets (pastel 50% het VPI axanthic and a female 66% dh axanthic/g-stripe); at least I now have 1.4 lovely pastels 100% het VPI axanthic and 5 g-stripe hets (still poss het axanthic and half with head stamps like my 100% axanthic hets). So win:win. At least my g-stripe 66% het ghost male proved to be both 100% het ghost and a pastel to boot fom 5 eggs out of a het ghost girl. If yo have the relevant visuals then even if a het doesn't prove you still get a clutch of 100% het babies.

This isn't unlikely I bred for hypos for years probably produced 20+ eggs. From a visual to hets and it took me 3+ breedings to hit hypos (this was years ago). so even with a 50/50 shot nothing is for sure except homozygous x homozygous.
