Ah yes...hence a "soundtrack" is eventually a lifetime of situations - a veritable symphony of emotion & experience, but never quite a finished piece. Music may not make the world go round, but it sure makes the ride worth listening to. ;)

    Hey nice.

Both my oldest son and my brother-in-law are heavily into Atreyu.

We wound up seeing them twice last summer.

Kara, this is a great thread. And Little Earthquakes is one of the best albums ever.

Here's my soundtrack in chronological order (of course):

    1. Kodachrome – Paul Simon (the first 45 I can remember buying, owning and playing)
    2. Jessie’s Girl – Rick Springfield (the first two live concerts I ever went to)
    3. Vacation – The Go-Go’s (the first live concert I went to without a parent)
    4. Purple Rain – Prince (early high school)
    5. I Will Follow – U2 (mid high school)
    6. When the Levee Breaks – Led Zepplin (late high school)
    7. Shelter – The Rolling Stones (the crazy lost year after high school)
    8. God - Tori Amos (transition period)
    9. Closer – Nine Inch Nails (never fails to remind me of getting to know Smulkin)
    10. Swamped – Lacuna Coil (made a major impact on my musical tastes last summer)
    11. Desperate Actions of a Broken Man – When Everything Goes Wrong (it’s been stuck in my head for the last four days)

The last one is my brother’s band. He’s the bassist. If you care to listen, go to www.purevolume.com/wheneverythinggoeswrong (Unfortunately, the vocals came out sounding a little tinny.)

Caught them once last year in NY, at Ozzfest.
They're great, I mainly went for God Forbid though.

    I love the Beatles. :)
I used to dislike Rush, when I was younger; I just thought they were too complicated and stuff. Now that I am older and more intelligent, I honestly appreciate their work a LOT and think of them as one of the best technical bands out there.

I got to know the Beatles by listening to my dad's band; when I was growing up, they used to play locally and their main staple was Beatle cover tunes. :)
It is hard to pik a favorite song of theirs; isn't it weird how they evolved (compare "twist and shout" with something later on like, say, "come together.")

I think I'll add a few to mine..

    Sisters of Mercy "More"
    Alice Cooper "House of Fire"
    KISS "Tears are Falling"
Depeche Mode "Just cant Get Enough"

    I know I am weird. :)
