Can someone clear this up for me; I am kinda wonderin something. :)
So the HSUS is not affiliated with the SPCA (society for the prevention of cruelty to animals..)? The SPCA in my former county of residence, is a great place; they regularly have reptiles up for adioption, as well as your more normal kinda of animals and even livestock. They run on donations and are there for animals who are abused (especially those high profile cases like the house-of-squalor types who horde animals that are starving.)
I really wish that every city or township could have logical-thinking, gutsy animal cops like you see on that Animal Planet show. I sincerely admire these people who risk life and limb for abused animals like they do. U saw one episode this morning that actually made me cry; this inhuman couple were hording about 100+ dogs in their house (which apparently smelled horrendous and was HIDEOUSLY clogged with garbage, etc.) They also had three morbidly obese hogs that could ahrdly walk, and two skinny looking horses. And the stupid, stupidheads were defending their right to own these animals, and saying everything was fine! Luckily they got the animals out and adopted them to better people.
Wow, I went off on quite a tangent there! I geuss my point is, I want to be sure that there's a difference between the "humane" society that killed those herps, and the good people who rescue animals in general.
