Black Mojo's always look to me like someone wrote on them in Arabic script. (Note - I can't read it, which is probably why there's a resemblance to me.)

Well you got your Black Mojo that's for sure. All of the little ones were cutting their eggs as of this morning so I helped them out a bit with some small cuts. I didn't see anything that looked like straight Black Pastel so the odds may really be in my favor. I did see one that looked like it might be Black Pastel Mojave Yellowbelly but I won't know for sure till it comes out and after they shed. So far I can only confirm to Black Mojos.

    Thanks!

    Dave

EDIT TO ADD: Yes, this was Tex's clutch. I'm guessing sired by Grif now.

I hope that's what you were wanting - but awesome that it looks like you can confirm the sire for sure! I may be biased - but I tend to think that Mojave and Black Pastel go fantastically together.

Thanks Deborah! I'm pretty excited about this clutch. I had another Black Mojo crawl out last night. Full unbroken stripe on this one. I ended up cutting small windows in the rest of the eggs as the shells were getting tough. They had all made the initial slits so I figured it was OK. Looks like I ended up with 3 Black Mojo, 1 Black Pastel YB, and 2 Black Pastel Mojave YB. I won't know for sure till the other three come out but I'm fairly certain and love the way the odds played out if I'm right. Hopefully I'll be able to post pics of the entire gang tomorrow.

First crappy phone pics. Not 100% sure what I have here but I don't see any single gene Black Pastels. Anyone want to weigh in? I've not sexed them or anything and won't till after they shed and eat. By my count though it's 5 Black Mojos. Two might have the Yellowbelly in them as well, but I'm not sure.

congrats Dave! 20 years in the making culminating in months of locks, ovulation and 50-something days to incubate!

they are beautiful! love the Black Pastel-Mojave combo. the black with the stripe and the side pattern just looks wicked!

i think the top baby that's slithering about with it's lil head pointed to the right might have YB. it's side patterns look to have more separation between them and looks to have some pattern starting up from the belly.

Those are all fantastic looking little slithers! Congratulations! Tex deserves an extra rat for doing such a good job.
