I'm so Sorry Kagan wow at least the Vet. was honest with you about it being above his skill level on Snakes. So the Journey with your new Baby has started I have faith this will work out in the end, your getting the Baby the medical attention that is needed and you have got the Habitat fixed right and you strike me as a person with a good heart and perseverance So you go Girl and you must post update pictures.:)

    Aww thanks you're so nice <3 :)
Right now we have to take her out twice a day to give her her meds and cream so I don't want to stress her out more than she already is, but as soon as I see some improvement and as soon as I find out about the belly button I'll definitely post updates and better pictures :) I love her <3 I'm so happy we can give her the care she needs now.

So we went to NJ and the vet is awesome, it's huge and beautiful and has soo many doctors and everyone was so friendly. It had a macaw, african grey, guinea pigs, dogs, cats, everything in the waiting room. I loved it. But anyway.

He examined her and said that it is an umbilical hernia and its not the first time hes seen it. He said it's not critical and that we need to focus on the oral infection first as that is the most important thing to fix here. We go back in three weeks and if the infection is still there after the oral meds, he will give her the injection which has a much higher success rate than the oral meds. She is also having a really hard time shedding as well. Her temps are perfect, he said it could be the infection causing her to have a bad shed. Once this is cleared he said we can talk about when to do the incision to bind together the belly. He said its really simple and I like the fact that hes comfortable with that. He said it could be $200+, which in my opinion is not bad because I was expecting a lot more than that.

She did manage to get the shed off of her head and that brown patch of whatever is no longer there anymore. It almost seemed like a scab because it had a few drops of blood once it came off, but that was it. Underneath looks completely normal. The shed on her back started to crack off, she is so wrinkly and she has no interest in rubbing the shed off. The poor girl just doesn't feel good <3

I don't have any updated pics of her, but I'll put two pics of our normal boy Nos :). He escaped the end of February because my bf forgot to put the clips on his cage and he hasn't eaten since then. I added more hides and redid his cage and he has shown no signs of stress like he was for a while and he thankfully ate again on Thursday night right after a perfect shed. He was very interested thank god, I was so worried about him.

Completely forgot to update, after doing the oral meds (baytril and metacam) two extra weeks we took her into the NJ vet two Sundays ago and he said everything was the same and I knew it was because nothing looked different. So he gave us the injections and it's wonderful. Swelling has gone down, no red corner on mouth, and she is going through a rough shed again. I'm hoping once the stress and meds are done she will have a normal shed because her humidity is great and shouldn't be causing the crispy stuck shed. She has about 11 more shots to go and then we will be scheduling another recheck to make sure everything is clear.

Last recheck was great, he only charged us for the meds which came out to about $19.05 or around there, we were so relieved.

If everything is good I want to discuss closing the umbilical more. I'm so happy were getting somewhere now with her health <3.
