Yes I absolutely disinfect everything before putting a new animal in regardless of what was in the enclosure previously. Fortunately i work at a hospital an i am able to "borrow" a tub of those. They are medical grade wipes which they use to clean everything short of surgical equipment so i believe they are sufficent. Just to be safe i always follow up with a bleachwater mix and have had no issues yet.

Didn't know that. Guess I have been lucky then (knock on wood). The worst I had to deal with so far was when my beardie got an RI which ended up as a $300 vet bill. But I wanted her to get a blood test done as Harley has never had to go to the vet so I wanted to get it done.

Quick question. The new girl has been soaking in her water dish for about half the day is this normal? She is most definitely free of mites or any scale issue and her temps are dialed in. I know some like to soak i just want to make sure soaking for that period is normal?

Vicky soaked for 2 days after I got her but the breeder also told me she was in shed when he shipped her. The shipping plus low humidity during shipping gave her issues so she soaked to get the shed off. Since then she hasn't soaked but did drop a deuce twice in the water bowl. As long as you know she is mite free, temps are good and she has 2 good hides, should be ok. Some snakes will soak in the water bowl also if there isn't any other hide that suits them.

Help! New boa vomitted 2 times in a row?
Elenore spends 80-90% of her time in her water bowl ever since I gave her one big enough for her to coil in.

Husbandry is fine and no mites.

I use an iPad, Tapatalk is the only way I can post pics without going through Photobucket. MUCH simpler too!

I havent settled on names for the Ball python and the bci. Both are female. The little savage trying to eat my hand is named Rocky.

Here he is again today haha hes got the most intense feeding response ive seen at all times. He is about 22 inches long and 45 to 55 grams. He ate a good sized fuzzy Sunday afternoon. Hands freshly washed no moving my fingers he just strikes and throws about 5 coils around my finger haha. Holds on for 5 minutes before he finally gives up. Then hits the finger next to it. Cute little Australian
    bastard.
