You don't need a light tent. For my shots I used a large piece of white poster board taped to a wall to create nice bend in it for a seamless background.

Out of my hundreds of snake pics, these are my "best" shots.

@redshepard - I don't know how you do it, besides maybe your DSLR, but the contrast and colors on your pics always seem to pop or stand out to me.

OMG!! Baby was so beautiful. i've never seen a dorsal stripe like that before. it's like she has alien heads in her striping. :) that's so sad u lost her. :( what an amazing snake.

ty, yeah she was so awesome and was going to be a dinker project, i was so upset that she escaped, i wish i would have found her, i searched everywhere but i think she found a way out of the house or something cuz there was no trace of her :( even left food out for her and nothing turned up
