Re: Help with identification?
Thanks very much :) . He ended up coming with free mites too, but I managed to beat them in the end... still worth it :-) .
Re: Help with identification?
Impossible to tell without locality data. You could try a scale count. I would guess BCC/BCI cross.
There are qualities of both there.
For reference this is a BCI

However this locality (Barranquilla Colombia) is what a natural cross of BCC and BCI would look like.
Gus Rentfro was very close to calling this line BCC but because he was only 99% sure he kept the BCI title. The scale counts differ from "common" BCI
on this locality as do some other traits.
There is so much mixing and matching going on in the trade, that it is very difficult without locality data to be certain what you have. Unless the breeder can trace back the parents and import roots you may call it a BCU.
U is unknown.
But for sure BCC in there (your snake) somewhere and a good bit of it.
Is that animal in shed by chance?
Re: Help with identification?
Thanks for all of the info... I'll check out how to do a scale count and try that. I just got him from "some guy", so I really can't find out anymore than he told me, (and that wasn't much unfortunately).
The picture was from awhile ago, but I believe he was in shed. He just shed again, so I'll try to update this thread with new pictures soon.
It's pretty fun having a boa when I mostly have Ball Pythons. He never disappoints at mealtime :) .
Re: Help with identification?
Thanks very much :) . I really love him either way. I had boas 15 plus years ago. I wasn't planning on getting another one, but I couldn't resist him :) . I think he's a really good size to get reacquainted with boas again. He's VERY good natured and curious about everything. I forgot how different Boas were from Ball Pythons :) .
